Guru Purnima

Every year, I have the good fortune of being a part of Guru Purnima. The day of full moon, Purnima, in the month of Ashadh of the Hindu calendar is traditionally celebrated as Guru Purnima. On this day, Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa – author of the Mahabharata – was born. Vyasa’s contribution to evolution Vedic thought and philosophy is seminal. This day is therefore observed in recognition of his contribution to Vedic thought and also for offering prayers to The Spiritual Guru – whoever he may be and in whatever form.

I consider myself lucky to regularly be in touch with certain elements of Vedic Philosophy which – thanks to my Mom – I keep hearing consciously as well as sub-consciously. Since I was 15, I have been involved with the development and maintenance of Baba’s Website ( – where Baba shares his thoughts and ideas on different aspects and scriptures. The site has quite a bit of traffic and I feel happy when I know of people who are attracted to Baba’s thoughts and send him a mail from different corners of the world after going through the site. SpiritualGrowth was selected as one of the “Top Spiritual Sites” in the year 2005 by Spirit and Sky – a network and repository of Spiritual websites.

Baba is a Reiki, psychic and maantric healer apart from conducting emotional let-out and Past-life regression seminars. He has also conducted workshops for executives at HAL and a session on stress management at IIT Kanpur, (Watch the video, here) apart from Reiki workshops all over India and Malaysia. He has also brought several people out of drug-addiction and helped mend relationships. Baba himself is an engineer by education and did his Post-Graduation from Germany and since then has been with the industry until he decided to voluntarily retire early to devote Himself to spiritual quests and and the service of humanity. This is precisely why it makes him so easy for people to relate to him and his thoughts have a naturally practical approach.

This year, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, a book of quotes by Baba was launched. The book is titled MasterPieces – Inspirational thoughts from a Master”

  1. I believe the spritual growth is esential… but then I am scared that if I go deep down the pholosophy, I may eventually end up the following:

    1) Turn vegetarian… Which I think will be the wworst thin g to happen to me

    2) Giving lectures to any1 and every1…. although I am alreay good at that bt havent focussed on the spiritual aspect

    3) renounce the concent of Laksmi(money) which I think will e deleterious to me..

Spiriuality can wait another 40 years…
(Prob then i wud in my next Janam)….

Well, the one thing that i really believe is DO GOOD BE GOOD and GOOD SHALL COME TO U ….
