I was having a casual conversation with Mr. B.B. Pant, Head of the Placement Office at BIT Mesra (and a wonderfully amicable man!) when I learnt that an Indian (and an ex-BIT-ian) has been named The President of S & P!
Standard & Poor’s, a division of The The McGraw-Hill companies, that publishes the popular S& P 500 Index has appointed Mr. Deven Sharma as its President. It feels good to know that an Indian is heading one of the largest provider of financial information and analytics. And it fills me pride to know that he belongs to BIT Mesra, my alma-mater!
The Times of India incorrectly reported that he was an alumnus of BITS Pilani.
Thankfully, The Economic Times reported it correctly.
So did CNN-Money – here!
Mr. Deven Sharma, a pass-out of the ’77 Batch of Mechanical Engineering from the institute went on to complete a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and a doctoral degree in business management from Ohio State University.
Thank you sir. You make us proud!
